Proposal: Integrating Bridges Directly into the PancakeSwap Swap Interface

Proposal: Integrating Bridges Directly into the PancakeSwap Swap Interface

With PancakeSwap’s recent update, it’s great to see the addition of bridges in the menus, but having to leave the platform to bridge tokens disrupts the seamless experience. I’d like to propose a more integrated solution that could enhance the user experience while adding value to PancakeSwap.

Key Proposal: Integrate Bridges Directly into the Swap Interface

Here’s how this could work:

  • Bridge Icon within the Swap Window: The simplest version would allow users to click on an icon within the Swap window to activate bridges. This would keep them on PancakeSwap rather than sending them to external bridge services.
  • Automated Bridge Selection: PancakeSwap could act as a bridge aggregator, automatically calculating and recommending the most cost-effective and efficient bridge option for the user based on all available bridges.
  • Gas Fees Optimization: Another useful feature could be the option to convert a portion of the swapped funds into gas fees for the target blockchain. This would eliminate the need for users to have gas on the destination chain, simplifying the process further.
  • Expert Mode for Advanced Bridges: For users who want more control, such as bridging to a different wallet or using a different blockchain, an expert mode could be offered, unlocking these advanced options.

By keeping users on PancakeSwap for the entire process, this would create a smoother user experience and reduce the friction of using third-party bridge services.

Fee Structure: Of course, there would be minimal transaction fees for these services, contributing to the PancakeSwap ecosystem and creating a new revenue stream, which is essential as PancakeSwap continues to innovate and grow.

Current Implementation on PancakeSwap

PancakeSwap’s current implementation of bridges in the menus is a step in the right direction, but it does require users to leave the platform for bridging. This proposal keeps everything within PancakeSwap, enhancing convenience. The platform could work as a bridge aggregator, providing users with the best options without leaving the interface.

By incorporating these features, PancakeSwap could further solidify itself as an all-in-one DeFi solution, keeping users engaged and making the bridging process as easy as swapping tokens.
